Wade still hopes to start: The Pioneer Press reports WR Bobby Wade has been running with the Vikings' second team in practice this week, but the team's leading receiver last season said he hasn't given up on keeping his starting job. The Vikings signed Bernard Berrian away from Chicago during the offseason to be their No. 1 receiver, and they have high hopes for second-year man Sidney Rice, who had a team-high four touchdown catches as a rookie. That could push Wade down to No. 3 slot receiver, but he isn't conceding anything. "Bernard's a strong player," he said. "He's going to be everything that we anticipate him to be, I'm sure. Sidney is a second-year player who played well as a rookie. Obviously, there will be some fierce competition in camp this year, and I think it should be. It's just about getting this team better." Fantasy Analysis
Wade, who had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee during the offseason, led the Vikings in receptions (54) and receiving yards (647) in 2007. Even if he earns the starting job he would have minimal Fantasy value in 2008. (Updated 05/22/2008).
