Brady laughs off ankle injury : Patriots' quarterback Tom Brady described the lingering effects of his injury late last season, saying Saturday that his ankle now feels really good, but he joked that he's still slow and can't jump. Speaking during a recent minicamp, Brady said his off season training program has been somewhat limited by the fact that still does not lift a lot of weight. "That hasn't changed," the NFL's MVP told reporters. Brady, who turns 31 in August, first injured his ankle against San Diego in the AFC championship game. News of the injury broke when he was first photographed in New York wearing a protective boot two weeks before the Super Bowl. The Giants capitalized en route to winning the Super Bowl. Fantasy Analysis
Brady added that he's beginning to re-connect with receivers Randy Moss and Wes Welker and is getting to know new TE Marcus Pollard (who will be behind Ben Watson on the depth chart). Brady didn't lead New England to a win in Super Bowl XLII, but he did earn his MVP award in 2007 by setting an NFL record for touchdown passes in a season with 50. He also ran for two touchdowns and 98 yards to go with 4,806 passing yards versus only eight interceptions. Needless to say, all his passing marks were new career highs. He also added six passing touchdowns, 737 passing yards and three interceptions in three playoff games. He's going to be the No. 1 quarterback taken in all Fantasy leagues in 2008 and rightfully so, especially with Randy Moss re-signing. Although players who lose the Super Bowl traditionally trail off in the ensuing year, the Patriots' offensive machine isn't showing any signs of slowing down. Brady should be a middle-to-late first-round pick in all leagues this summer. (Updated 06/07/2008).
