T.O. excused from minicamp start: DallasCowboys.com reports that the club will begin their mandatory minicamp without WR Terrell Owens, who has an excused absence to attend to a personal matter. His absence has nothing to do with his recent placement in the NFL's "reasonable cause" drug-testing program. He took his physical and then took off. "I think something came up," teammate Jason Witten said of Owens. "He's worked hard all off-season. His work ethic is contagious, guys see it and want to work that way. He's a big a part of this offseason. He's been a great teammate, really, the last two years." (Updated 06/17/2008).

Fantasy Analysis
Owens is expected to eventually make his way back to minicamp and be on-time for training camp this summer. Owens has averaged 83 catches and 1,267.5 yards over his two seasons in Dallas. A five-time All-Pro, Owens is ninth on the career receptions list with 882, 10th in receiving yards with 13,070 and third in touchdown with 129. While we liked the fact he was heading into a contract year, we also are fond of Owens not having any distractions and becoming a problem, which has happened in the past. He's a No. 1 Fantasy option in 2008 worth a pick in the second round of all drafts this summer. (Updated 06/17/2008).
