Jurevicius not going to retire: The News-Herald in Ohio reports Browns WR Joe Jurevicius (knee) missed practice Wednesday to rehab his injury. GM Phil Savage was vague when asked whether Jurevicius had another knee surgery recently. The team has acknowledged Jurevicius had a surgery in January and then another one to clean out a staph infection. Coach Romeo Crennel was equally vague. "I don't know the whole timeline," Crennel said. "The number of times he has had something done to it, I wouldn't be able to tell you unless I talk to the medical staff. It's more than one and less than 15." Savage dismissed the possibility Jurevicius might retire before the 2008 season because of cumulative problems with his knee. (Updated 05/22/2008).
Injury Report
Knee - Probable for start of training camp (Updated - 5/15/08)
Fantasy Analysis
This is the first we've heard of any retirement talk, but it's not a good sign that his knee is giving him so much trouble. The Browns made sure they were covered by bringing in Donte Stallworth this offseason, but Jurevicius was still expected to be a big part of the offense. Keep an eye on what happens because Jurevicius can be a useful Fantasy reserve during the season if he's healthy and ready to play. (Updated 05/22/2008).
