Playing behind three future first-round picks in Keith Rivers, Rey Maualuga and Brian Cushing, Williams didn't have much of an opportunity to get on the field while with the Trojans, starting only four games as a senior. High.

As a junior in 2001, he posted 85 tackles, with 8 sacks, plus 3 interceptions, 4 forced fumbles and 3 fumble recoveries on defense, and had 378 rushing yards with 4 TDs (and 1 receiving TD) on offense. He played safety as a sophomore in 2000. He also played baseball (hitting .430) at Vacaville.
