--The Sixers created an additional $2.8 million in cap space to sign Elton Brand by trading G/F Rodney Carney ($1.66 million), C Calvin Booth ($1.14 million) and a protected 2009 first-round pick from the December Kyle Korver deal with Utah to the Timberwolves for a protected 2010 second-rounder. That allowed the Sixers to increase their offer to Brand from five years, $66.7 million to $82.9 million.

--The Sixers invited former St. Joseph's shooting standout Pat Carroll, the younger brother of Bobcats shooting guard Matt Carroll who had played his first three seasons of professional basketball overseas, to rookie camp in Las Vegas and to play in the ensuing NBA Summer League.

QUOTE TO NOTE
"There's things I can do to help them get to the next level. They made the playoffs without my assistance. I'm looking for bigger and better things, for sure." -- Elton Brand, after signing a five-year, $83 million contract with the 76ers.

So would it be smart to slide Iguodala in the backcourt with Andre Miller and have Thad, Elton and Sam in the front court or would Thad come off the bench and leave Green in the backcourt? Personally i like having  Thad starting and have Iguodala dominate some of the smaller two guards out there any thoughts?

In my lifetime of being a die hard 76ers fan  i'd rate Dr. J as my greatest 76er and Moses Malone right behind him, i wouldn't rate Charles Barkley and Allen Iverson as great 76ers but great players that i rooted for, because they didn't deliver a champ ...(more)
