--A franchise that never has done better than it should and often has done worse in the draft lottery finally won something: A blind draw with Memphis that slots the Wolves with the draft's third pick and the Grizzlies fourth. The teams tied in the regular season with 22-60 records after the Wolves won three of their final four games. The Wolves also won 138 combination chances in the May 20 draft lottery, one more than Memphis' 137.

--At a season-ending press conference, one reporter asked Kevin McHale if he would accept a championship ring from the Boston Celtics for handing them a title if they win it all this spring with Kevin Garnett on their side.

"I've already got three from them," he said. "They say Boston Celtics on them and they sit at home in my safe. Ray Allen had a pretty good year for them. Maybe they'll give Seattle a ring, too. Hell, no. I'm glad for Danny (Ainge), I'm glad for the Celts, I'm glad for (Garnett). But I'm worried about the Minnesota Timberwolves."

--Kevin McHale also was asked why he keeps on keeping on at a job many Wolves fans wish he'd leave.

"I love basketball," he said. "I'll be on my deathbed and I'll love basketball. I don't do it for any other reason than I absolutely love basketball. I want this team to be in really good shape. I want this team to be competitive, going for the playoffs and trying to put a championship-caliber team together that can make a run and keep it together."

QUOTE TO NOTE
"The lottery, if you're waiting on that, that's like going into the bingo parlor and putting your finger on B12 hoping that it hits." -- Kevin McHale, on the NBA's annual game of chance that never has been kind to the Wolves.

Watching the series is like watching who should of played for the T-wolves in 2008 and correct me if I miss a few.  KG- we all know what he meant to the team.  Sam Cassell- maybe he was more important then Mchale thought, would take him over Jaric and a first round pick two years later.  ...(more)

The Timberwolves should draft Jerryd Bayless, assuming that we get the 3rd pick. I see him as a better shooting Tony Parker. With our two 2nd round picks, I would go with Joey Dorsey drom Memphis and Bill Walker from Kansas St. Dorsey is a very good defensive player a ...(more)

I am a Lifelong Minnesota sports fan, and all i have to say is that I am very happy for Kevin Garnett with his situation in Boston.

He created the Timberwolves and in my heart he will always be one at heart.

I pray that he gets the ring that he deserves with th ...(more)

I can see that sman1965 bothers almost every team on their message board. While trash talking is fun, just seeing this guys posts makes me fell like I am back in the 3rd grade.

I am proposing a boycott of any thread he starts, and to any posts he makes on other threads as well...

Maybe he will start to talk smart sports conversation or maybe he will jus ...(more)

I was wondering what you guys think about Wittman as a coach after his first full season.  I wasn't a huge fan of how he managed some of the playing time of certain players throughout the year and i'm not too sure he's the guy we should keep long term.  However i don't know who is available that would be a good fit for us.  What do you guys think?

Hey, I'm sure a lot of you have heard the rumors about Telfair interested in going to the Knicks this offseason. So, I was wondering what everyone's thoughts were about this. Also, I would like to know what you guys think of Randy Foye, and if he should be our future poi ...(more)

OK so lots of speculation on this years draft. I am not going there. I'm going to next years draft.

Top 2 players most likely to enter the NBA Draft in 2009.
  1. Demar DeRozan - He would bring a superstar presence that no one in this year's draft would. Not even Michael Beasley would be able to match his ability. ...(more)

This site rocks.  You get a free starting balance to bet on any games.  If you work it up to $10 or more, you can cash it out and get a check in the mail.  There are no catches and NO DEPOSITING is even allowed on the site.  If you lose your first bet, you don't even go to zero balance.  They give you your starting kitty over and over again.  This is a lot of f ...(more)
