Pistons report: Notes, quotes
--Shooting guard Richard Hamilton is only 30 years old, but he now owns one of the most treasured records in Pistons franchise history. Hamilton passed Isiah Thomas for the top spot on the franchise's all-time postseason scoring list Tuesday. Needing 11 points to take sole possession of the record, he clinched it on two free throws with 3:56 remaining in the first half. He received a standing ovation from the crowd after the record was announced during a timeout later in the quarter. Hamilton finished with 31 points and now has 2,282 playoff points, 21 more than Thomas. Hamilton's record wasn't simply the result of longevity. He has played in 110 postseason games, one fewer than Thomas. "That's a great feat," Chauncey Billups said. "You're talking about Isiah Thomas, one of the greats of all time. ... It speaks volumes about how long we've been here together, how many playoff games he's been able to play and how effective he's been." --The Pistons broke their own record for the fewest turnovers in a playoff game, making just three in Game 5. The previous record was four, which they accomplished twice -- first against Boston on May 9, 1991 and again in the Finals against San Antonio on June 16, 2005.
