Celtics report: Notes, quotes
--Paul Pierce wasn't bothered by the fact LeBron James' mother had bad words for him after he fouled her son in Game 4. "She was just coming to (the defense of) her son," Pierce said. "That's how moms are. My mom probably would have done the same thing. But I wasn't worried. LeBron had her under control." James told his mother to sit down in some strong language. Asked what his own mom would have done if he talked to her that way, Pierce said Lorraine Hosey would have sat down, too. Pierce was then asked if his mother could take LeBron's. "My mom's a little older, but she's old school," he said with a laugh. "She might have some tactics. There were a couple of times when I was in school when my mother wanted to run on the court when she saw me fall. But that's just a mother's nature." --Before Game 5, coach Doc Rivers said he was thinking about whether to go back to using Eddie House instead of Sam Cassell as the primary backup to Rajon Rondo at point guard. "As a coach you always have the Sam-and-Eddie question," Rivers said. "Obviously, if Sam is playing well, then there is no Eddie question. If Sam plays poorly, then there is an Eddie question. I'm smart enough to get that point." QUOTE TO NOTE Copyright (C) 2008 The Sports Xchange. All Rights Reserved.
