Perkins working to avoid injury: The Sports Xchange notes that Kendrick Perkins has been working hard in the offseason to avoid a repeat of left shoulder problems that caused him to miss Game 5 of the NBA Finals. Perkins has had problems with the shoulder in the past.

Fantasy Analysis

Perkins averaged career bests in points (6.9), rebounds (6.1) and blocks (1.5) in his first full season as the starting center in Boston. He also averaged a career-high 24.5 minutes per contest. He is more than an afterthought, despite being a starter, on a team with Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce and won't ever be a focal point in the offense on a regular basis. But he'll only be 24 next season and stands to improve some with added playing time. His ceiling may be that of a 10-and-10 type big man, but that could conceivably happen within the next couple of years.
