Wells was traded to the Hornets, who were looking for some production out of their shooting guard spot with Morris Peterson underperforming, but Wells didn't do much to earn himself a big role. He saw about 20 minutes off the bench for the Hornets and did not resemble the player he was when he averaged double digits in seven consecutive seasons from 2000-2006.
