Boone OK after elbow problem: The Sports Xchange notes that Josh Boone suffered a slightly hyperextended right elbow during a big man camp in Las Vegas this offseason, a setback that forced him home after just one day. But Boone, whose first two training camps were lost or hampered to shoulder (2006) and knee (2007) surgery rehabs, insisted all was fine. "This is very minor," he said.

Fantasy Analysis

Boone had himself a breakout season of sorts last year, averaging 8.2 ppg and 7.3 rpg in his second NBA season. He was the team's starting center for 53 games and filled in nicely for Nenad Krstic earlier in the season. In January and February, before Krstic returned, Boone averaged 10.4 points and 8.7 rebounds. But in the off-season, the Nets brought in a slew of players who ostensibly seek his job. Boone said he's ready to protect his turf. Expect Boone to get enough playing time this fall to be worth drafting as a No. 3 center.
