The Blue Jays bullpen has had a number of changing parts this season, but it is developing into one of the more solid units in the American League.

The relievers entered Thursday's game with the fifth-best ERA in the league at 3.35 and improved on that stat with six scoreless innings.

B.J. Ryan opened the season on the disabled list, but since he's returned, he's been a perfect 7-for-7 in save situations and hasn't allowed a run.

With four left-handers and three right-handers to choose from, manager John Gibbons has been able to mix and match to his heart's content.

Rookie Jesse Carlson has allowed just three earned runs over his past 17 games, while Brian Tallet has not allowed a run in seven consecutive games and has held left-handed hitters to a .185 average (5-for-27).

Shawn Camp has been overpowering against right-handers, who have gone 2-for-19 against him.

The bullpen has managed all of the above with two relievers on the DL -- right-handers Brian Wolfe and Jeremy Accardo.

The rotation has been receiving plenty of plaudits for its sterling work the past three weeks. Although overlooked, the work of the bullpen has managed to keep pace.

BLUE JAYS 3, TWINS 2 (11 innings): Pinch hitter Joe Inglett hit a two-out, bases-loaded single in the 11th inning to send the Blue Jays to a victory and a three-game sweep of the Twins. With the win, the Jays are 4-3 on their 10-game road trip that continues Friday in Philadelphia. In the game, the Jays threw out two runners at the plate. Shawn Camp (1-1) picked up the win by recording the final out of the 10th. The Jays have now won six consecutive games vs. the Twins dating back to last season.

When are the MLB schedule makers going to remember that Toronto is not in United States, but in Canada, and that we have different holidays?  Ok, fine the Jays have the day off on Monday along with the rest of Canada, but why do they have an afternoon game at home on Memorial Day (a U.S. holiday, not a holiday in Canada).  To me it would make more sense to have the Jays play an afternoon ...(more)

just watching a depressing doubleheader, where the Blue Jays have already wasted a good outing from burnett, and was noticing how the jays have only scored one run in close to forty innings and none in almost thirty.

I am a Cubs fan ( I know, 100 years and counting).  Why did the Blue Jays get rid of Reed Johnson?  From an outsider looking in I was suprised when they did that.   His average has dipped ...(more)

This is so pathetic.  This offense is terrible.  I have now come to expect them not to score a run when someone gets on base.

By Lawrence Barreca. Sixs weeks have now gone by and the races in each division seem to get tighter with each game. This is due to outstanding production from some surprise players this season. Below are my Week 7 "Hot" Waiver Wire Pickups:

It amazes me how bad a manager can handle a staff.  Can anyone logically explain how Carlson can throw 2, that's right 2  pitches and the be removed for Ryan.  And then have Ryan come in for a non-situation and throw 1 inning.  I thought they were going to be careful with Ryan?

He went through pitchers last night, like Brittany Spears goes through therapists.
