--LHP Adam Bostick is being considered as a fill-in starter for the Mets Wednesday against Washington. The Mets need an emergency starter after Saturday's day-night double-header. An alternative could be to use LHP Johan Santana or RHP Mike Pelfrey on short rest.
--OF Angel Pagan is still bothered by a sore left shoulder sustained from falling into the stands last Wednesday at Los Angeles. Pagan appeared in Sunday's game as a pinch-hitter for LHP Oliver Perez.
--RHP Pedro Martinez will need to throw at least two or three more bullpen sessions before making a rehab start. Martinez threw 60 pitches in a bullpen session, including throwing to live hitters, over the weekend. Martinez is currently on the disabled list with a strained left hamstring.
--RHP Matt Wise, on the DL with a strained forearm, was in New York over the weekend, but returned to Port St. Lucie, Fla. Wise is eligible to come off the disabled list, but with the possible need to bring up a pitcher from the minor leagues to make an emergency start and an injury to 2B Luis Castillo that could require a DL stint, the Mets are waiting before making a move.
--RHP Orlando Hernandez is out of his support boot for his right foot and has been cleared for light jogging and throwing. There is no timetable for his return.
BY THE NUMBERS -- .136: SS Jose Reyes' batting average over the last seven games.
QUOTE TO NOTE "He might drive you nuts every once in a while, but he competes, man." - Manager Willie Randolph, on inconsistent LHP Oliver Perez.

I know that most of the first half of the season I read on almost every thread that Delgado was done. I kept saying "that he was a leader in the clubhouse, I hope he will come around" Well i think he has turned the corner. he is laying off the pitches that were striking him out the first half and making solid contact for power on most of the balls he hits.
