Right-hander Aaron Harang threw for the first time Tuesday since going on the disabled list, a 70-foot long-toss session.

Shortstop/outfielder Jerry Hairston Jr. ran in the field for the first time since going on the DL.

The official club comment on how each did was, "Without complaint," and both will be examined Wednesday morning.

"Uneventful," is the way pitching coach Dick Pole described Harang's test of his right forearm. "I like it when the trainers use the word uneventful."

Harang pitched a game in Wrigley Field before the All-Star break and awoke the next morning with pain in his right forearm. He is eligible to come off the DL on Wednesday, but he is not close to returning to the rotation.

Hairston strained his right hamstring on the day before the All-Star break. He is eligible to come off the DL on July 29 and feels he is on track to do so.

REDS 4, PADRES 3 (11 innings): Jeff Keppinger, 0-for-5 at the time, pulled a game-winning double down the left field line in the 11th inning. The Reds lead the majors with 10 walk-off victories. Johnny Cueto gave up three runs over six innings, and the combination of Jeremy Affeldt, Mike Lincoln, Bill Bray and Gary Majewski held the Padres to no runs and two hits over the final five innings.

Tonight's disaster was the end of it for the year for this Reds fan.
I have nothing more to contribute.
I will check in off and on but won't be posting much.

Thanks to all for the first 100 games.

From what I have seen this year, if a Reds player has an interview after the game, do any of you notice that, if you didn't know the outcome of the game, you couldn't tell who won?

This is a direct reflection of the ENTIRE management team and their ability and willingness to pay top dollar for less than mediocrity

Lets see what everyone thinks about these trades.

The Twins are in need of a third baseman. I propose trading Edwin Encarnacion to the Twins for Francisco Liriano. He seems to be on the road ...(more)
