TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Buster Posey was all over the field for Florida State.

The Seminoles catcher played all nine defensive positions -- and hit a grand slam -- in a 10-0 seven-inning victory over Savannah State on Monday.
Posey, a junior who's expected to be a high pick in the major league baseball draft in June, became the fourth Seminoles player under coach Mike Martin to play all nine positions. Mike Martin Jr., the coach's son, was the last to perform the feat in 1994.
"First base was probably the weirdest position for me to play just because I've never really played there before," said Posey, a native of Leesburg, Ga. "In the Cape Cod League this summer, I played left and right field in two separate games. Center field was the one position I have never played."
Posey, 1-for-3 with four RBI and two runs scored, started the game at his usual spot behind the plate, moved to first base in the second, second base in the third, shortstop in the fourth and third base in the fifth. He went to left field in the sixth and shifted over to center with two outs. Posey, who has also closed for the Seminoles, took the mound in the seventh and struck out both batters he faced before moving to right field for the final out of the inning.
"To see Buster play all nine positions just shows you what kind of talent the guy has," Martin said. "At no time was I ever worried about a ball being hit to him. Buster looked very comfortable everywhere he was, so that just goes to show you what kind of athlete that he is."
The game was called in the bottom of the seventh due to the 10-run mercy rule.
