The Toronto Star reports that with the arrival of Kevin Mench and Brad Wilkerson to the Blue Jays, the odd man out appears to be Shannon Stewart. "This is like a bad dream," the 34-year-old veteran said Sunday. "Things happen in life that are unexpected. I went through a lot in the off-season. It was kind of difficult just because of the situation. I knew I wasn't going to be the guy (here). The way I look at it, I was more like insurance. I've had the opportunity to play, but it's been weird." Joe Inglett was even penciled in to start in left field Sunday. (Updated 05/12/2008).

Fantasy Analysis
Stewart started 22 games, 19 in left field and three as the DH, but the results have continued to spiral downward. He is currently hitless in his last 17 at-bats. "The effect on the field is, I think when I play, I try and do too much now," he said. The Jays might be close to releasing him and letting him catch on with another team. For now, consider him in AL-only play. (Updated 05/12/2008).
Stewart had a season-high three hits, including a triple, as the host Blue Jays beat the slumping Chicago White Sox, 1-0, on Monday night for a four-game sweep. (Updated 05/06/2008)
Advice
This was Stewart's 41st career triple, and his second this season as his first came in a loss to Detroit on April 18. Stewart went 6-for-11 (.545) with two RBIs in three games versus the White Sox, but is hitting .257 with six RBIs in 22 games this season.
