The Sports Xchange reports that Scott Baker left the team Friday and flew to Fort Myers, Fla., where he will attempt to pitch another bullpen session over the weekend to test his sore groin. Baker felt some soreness in his last throwing session, and the Twins told him to take several more days of rest. (Updated 05/17/2008).

If all goes well, he could make a rehab start late next week. Baker isn't likely to be back until early June. Fortunately, his lack of upside limits his Fantasy appeal to deeper leagues. He has pitched well so far, though, with a 1.09 and 29 strikeouts in 33 innings. (Updated 05/17/2008).
The Twins announced Wednesday that Baker was going to the DL because of a strained right groin that forced him out of his last start after three innings. (Updated 05/07/2008)

MRI results on Baker???s sore groin revealed a light strain but no inflammation. Baker's roster spot will be filled by right-hander Kevin Slowey, who will be activated from the 15-day disabled list to start against the Chicago White Sox on Thursday.
