Misch to work on craft in minors: MLB.com reports the Giants optioned SP Patrick Misch to Triple-A Fresno Saturday to make room on the active roster for Kevin Correia, who pitches Sunday against the A's. Correia had been on the 15-day DL since April 26 because of a strained muscle in his left side. The Giants sent Misch to Frenso so he can work on his craft as a starter. (Updated 06/15/2008).

Misch was designated to the bullpen in early June after posting a 7.03 ERA in six starts. He did fairly well in the bullpen, but San Francisco projects him long term to start and feel he needs to start improving in that area. Misch pitched well at times, but manager Bruce Bochy said he needed to get "better command of the ball down" to succeed in the majors.
