Blue Jays RP Jesse Carlson, not B.J. Ryan, closed out Sunday's 5-2 win against the Royals. Ryan entered the game with a 3-2 lead in the eighth inning and pitched a perfect inning which included a strikeout of Tony F. Pena. However, Carlson came out in the ninth after Toronto scored twice in the top of the inning. Carlson allowed a leadoff single to Alberto Callaspo, but then retired Alex Gordon on a double play and got Jose Guillen to ground out to end the game. (Updated 04/27/2008).

Fantasy Analysis
While Carlson picked up his first career Sunday, don't look too much into it. He remains just a left-hander middle reliever, but a good one to this stage. He has a 1.42 ERA and 15 strikeouts in 12 2/3 innings. The former UConn product is nothing more than an AL-only Fantasy middle reliever. He likely closed out Sunday's game because Toronto wasn't ready to push Ryan two innings. (Updated 04/27/2008).
