Toronto Blue Jays center fielder Vernon Wells is expected to be sidelined six to eight weeks with a broken left wrist. The two-time All-Star was injured while making a diving catch Friday night in the sixth inning of Toronto's 6-1 loss to Cleveland. The Blue Jays placed Wells on the 15-day disabled list Saturday. (Updated 05/10/2008).
Injury Report
Wrist, hamstring - 15-day DL. Out until at least late June (Updated - 5/10/08)
Fantasy Analysis
Ouch. That's a tough break for Fantasy owners as well. This injury will put him out until at least late June and very likely into July. The Jays will likely have to move Alex Rios to center, creating a job for Brad Wilkerson in right field. That makes Wilkerson worth a pick up in AL-only formats in the short term. If at all possible, stash Wells away. (Updated 05/10/2008).
