MLB.com reports Giants manager Bruce Bochy said Thursday that injured SP Kevin Correia, on the 15-day DL with an oblique strain, will likely pitch an inning or two in a simulated or extended spring training game when the team visits Arizona from May 27-29. Correia will throw off a mound for the second time Friday. Correia threw 10 pitches off a mound without pain Wednesday. "It was better than I thought it would be," he said. "I hadn't really let anything go 100 percent up until then -- and that (Wednesday's throwing) wasn't quite 100 percent. But I was throwing pretty hard." (Updated 05/15/2008).
Injury Report
Oblique - 15-day DL. Out until at least early June (Updated - 5/4/08)
Fantasy Analysis
Correia added that he isn't completely healthy. "It's still there," he said. "I can't really let it loose 100 percent. But I can throw around it now until it heals." Correia is likely out to early June at this juncture if he is not going to pitch even in an extended spring game until late May. Correia is primarily a NL-only and larger mixed league Fantasy sleeper when healthy. (Updated 05/15/2008).
