Myers pitches decently on the road: Phillies SP Brett Myers (2-5) came up with another fruitless road outing Monday at Washington, although it was better than any he's had recently. He allowed eight hits and three runs with two walks and three strikeouts over six innings, an improvement for a pitcher who entered the game with an 0-3 record and an 8.18 ERA away from Citizens Bank Park. He suffered the loss, though, falling to 2-5. (Updated 05/19/2008).

Fantasy Analysis
Myers had an 11.57 ERA over his last two starts -- one of which came on the road. His transition back to the starting rotation hasn't gone so well after he closed most of last year. He says he still wants to close, but with Brad Lidge dominating in the ninth inning, no chance of that happening. Myers still has awesome stuff, as evidenced by his 50 strikeouts in 59 1/3 innings, so hold on to him. He has the potential to serve as a No. 2 Fantasy SP when going well. His next start -- and second of Fantasy Week 8 -- is scheduled for Saturday at Houston. (Updated 05/19/2008).
Myers gave up three runs and eight hits in six innings of Monday's 4-0 loss to the Nationals. (Updated 05/20/2008)
Advice
Myers has not earned a win since April 17 against Houston. He has lost his last three starts, posting a 8.80 ERA in those outings.
