Dodgers SP Brad Penny was dealt a second consecutive loss after Tuesday's 5-3 defeat at the hands of the Brewers. Coming off one of the worst outings of his career last week against the Mets, Penny (5-4) gave up two runs in the first four innings, then got in trouble in the fifth after issuing a leadoff, four-pitch walk to Brewers pitcher Carlos Villanueva (2-4). Penny came back to get two quick outs and had Milwaukee's Mike Cameron down 0-2 before giving up a single that brought up Ryan J. Braun, who was coming off back-to-back two-home run games Sunday and Monday. This time, the 2007 NL Rookie of the Year bashed a two-out, two-run double off the left field wall to give the Brewers the lead. Prince Fielder followed up with a single to score Braun and put Milwaukee ahead 5-3. (Updated 05/14/2008).

Fantasy Analysis
Penny gave up five runs and nine hits in six innings Tuesday. Penny gave up 10 runs in his most recent start, a 12-1 loss to the Mets last Wednesday. He walked one and struck out six Tuesday while also surrendering a solo home run to Bill Hall. To say Penny has been flat out awful in his last two starts would be an understatement. His ERA is now at 5.09 and we just hope he is not fighting off some sort of injury. Penny still remains a high-end Fantasy SP despite his recent shortcomings. Hopefully, he can right the ship Sunday against the Angels, a team he was 0-1 against with a 14.40 ERA last season. (Updated 05/14/2008).
