The Mets made a flurry of moves Tuesday. Pitchers Matt Wise and Claudio Vargas were added to the Mets roster, while hurlers Jorge Sosa and Nelson Figueroa were designated for assignment. Wise was activated from the DL and Vargas was added to the 40-man roster. Club officials said Vargas will start Wednesday's game against the Nationals. Adam Bostick had been an option for that spot start, but now Vargas becomes the Mets' No. 5 starter until Pedro Martinez (hamstring) can return in June. The club also put Angel Pagan on the 15-day DL and recalled infielder Fernando Tatis from the Triple-A New Orleans Zephyrs. (Updated 05/13/2008).

Fantasy Analysis
Figueroa pitched a scoreless first inning Monday against the Nationals, but it was all downhill after that during a 10-4 loss. Figueroa would allow at least one run in the next four innings. A three-run fifth, highlighted by a two-run double off the bat of Jesus Flores, would end Figueroa's night. He allowed five hits, six runs (four earned) and five walks in five innings. He struck out four as he dropped to 2-3. Ignore the journeyman in all Fantasy leagues while he is out of a job. (Updated 05/13/2008).
