A's 3B Eric Chavez (back) played in his first rehab game for Triple-A Sacramento Thursday. Chavez started at DH and hit leadoff against Salt Lake. Unfortunately, he was hitless in four at-bats and struck out once. (Updated 05/16/2008).
Injury Report
Back - 60-day DL. On Triple-A rehab assignment (Updated - 5/16/08)
Fantasy Analysis
Chavez likely won't be ready until June, but he's obviously worth stashing in AL-only leagues until that time. He used to be a regular 30-homer guy until injuries caught up with him. If he can return to his old form, he might become mixed-league viable before the end of the season. (Updated 05/16/2008).

Advice
Chavez is on the 60-day disabled list recovering from offseason back surgery. The third baseman is still not eligible to come off the DL until May 27.
