N. Johnson to have cast fitted: The Sports Xchange reports that Nationals 1B Nick Johnson was in D.C. to have his right forearm fitted with a cast, which will be removed in four weeks. Johnson had season-ending surgery to repair a split tear in his right wrist on June 24. After the cast is removed, he will begin a rehab program that should have him ready by spring training next season. (Updated 07/10/2008).
Injury Report
Wrist - 60-day DL. Out for the season (Updated - 6/27/08)
Fantasy Analysis
Johnson has been prone to injury throughout his career, and missed the entire 2007 season while recovering from a broken leg. He was hitting .220 with five home runs and 20 RBI in 38 games before the injury. He is an OPS hog when healthy, so continue to store Johnson only in deeper keeper formats. (Updated 07/10/2008).
