Barton sent back home to rest wrist: The Sports Xchange reports Cardinals OF Brian Barton is back home in Los Angeles, resting a cracked bone in his right wrist. The break was discovered a couple of days ago after Barton already had been placed on the 15-day disabled list with what was diagnosed as a bruise. (Updated 07/12/2008).

Barton is nothing more than a reserve for the Cardinals and the deepest of NL-only Rotisserie leagues when healthy. Consider him out through the end of July at this point, especially since the Cardinals have outfielders to work with and will want their Rule-5 pick to get some much-needed at-bats on a 20-day rehab stint.
