Fantasy Analysis
Escobar's hitting streak has consisted of a lot of "one-liners". He's gone 1-for-4, 1-for-5, 2-for-4, 1-for-5 and 1-for-4 and isn't exactly tearing the cover off the ball or driving in a lot of runs. He has just two RBI in the five games. But if you consider the overall body of work, a .313 average, four homers, 27 runs scored and 16 RBI, he should be considered a pretty solid shortstop for Fantasy purposes. He's been pretty steady all season. (Updated 05/15/2008).
Escobar went 2-for-4 with three runs in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Padres. (Updated 05/09/2008)
Advice
Escobar, who has two hits in each of his last three games, is batting .462 (12-for-26) with six runs in his last seven. He has raised his batting average from .297 to .333 in that span.
