With Andrew Miller rested and ready for multiple innings tonight, the Indians' bullpen is in much better shape than the Cubs'. I think that will be the difference in Game 7. Even though this is Corey Kluber's second straight start on short rest, consider that he's thrown fewer than 90 pitches in his past three starts. Back the Indians at a tremendous price and let's finish off the MLB season the right way.
Watching the Cubs steamroll the Indians in Game 6 with all their hitters busting loose, my first thought was that momentum would carry the Cubs through Game 7 and that Kyle Hendricks could make just one or two runs stick. He hasn't allowed a run in his last two starts and only three runs total in four playoff starts. But all of those starts, by design, were at home. On the road, he's been far more vulnerable with an ERA 1.62 higher. It's the small window I needed to justify backing Corey Kluber to complete an unbelievable playoff run. I like Kluber to to go six strong innings and Andrew Miller to shut things down from there.
We cashed with the Over in Game 6, and we're going back to the well in Game 7. My projections show 8.7 runs scored, giving us a nice cushion. The Over is cashing in 69 percent of my simulations.
