NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Rookie offensive lineman Brian Stamper has signed a deal with the New Orleans Saints, general manager Mickey Loomis said Monday.
Stamper, 6-5, 300, a rare five-year starter at Vanderbilt, set school records for games played (51) after being granted a medical redshirt despite seeing action in five games as a junior in 2006. He overcame a career-threatening bck injury to return to his role as starting right tackle and team captain in 2007, starting all 12 games for the Commodores.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
oomis said the team waived lineman Kevin Tuminello, who was signed earlier this month as an undrafted free agent. He took part in the team's rookie minicamp.
Anyone know anything about this kid? He sounds like he could be pretty good.
