I was reading an article in the Detroit Free Press and all the Magic players believe they are a better team than Detroit, even the general manager Otis Smith believes it.
Wow in 2 years you win a total of 1 game and lose eight to the Detroit Pistons and now you claim you are the better team, usually the better team wins... ohh wait they did in five games and that would be the Detroit Pistons.
here is a link to the article if anyone is interested.

Orlando needs to learn that almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.

The Orlando Magic are just poor losers and show their lack of class. Jameer Nelson is one of the biggest cry babies to come into the league. I can understand their situation, having been daydreamers and having their bubble busted by the Detroit Pistons, a veteran playoff team. Keep practicing Orlando and you might get to a conference Final some year.
The Orlando Magic vs Detroit Pistons series was more interesting than the home only winner series going on now. The games were closer in the last two games.
But it will be #1 seed vs #2 seed in both conference finals. With Detroit Pistons playing the New Orleans Hornets for the NBA championship. When Boston loses Game 1 at home versus Detroit, they'll freak out. Boston couldn't win a road game if it was given to them. How can the team with the best record in the NBA, be unable to win any road games in the playoffs? Lack of playoff experience and team chemistry.

The Magic were saying this during the series as well. The main culprits being Lewis and Nelson. The Magic are still a couple players away. They need better starting guard play. Nelson is a liability on the defensive end and they have no shooting guard to speak of. Turkuglu and Lewis play the same style. Both have power forward size, but play like small forwards on both ends of the floor. Howards needs some help inside. Once they fix all that they will be on the same level as the Pistons.

Ahhh, how quickly we forget. This is the same thing our very Pistons were saying last year about the Cavs after they lost. Ridiculous then, ridiculous now: you lost the series--you are not the better team.

So, the Orlando Magic are the best team not to advance to the Conference Finals this season. Nice. I would love to see how the fans would react to a banner reflecting that stat being hoisted from the rafters in their arena. Sounds like parents and their kids today crying over only the top performers receiving a trophy for their top-finish in a contest. Maybe the NBA should start giving trophies to every team that simply plays a full season, regardless of the record, and do away with the playoffs and finals. Let the team's battle it out in the media for bragging rights. Sheesh, ridiculous whiners. Put more energy in the way you play, and leave it on the court.

I agree to a point. I still feel the Pistons are one hard foul on LeBron in the 4th quarter away from playing in the finals. In the Bad Boy days there were consequese for continually driving the lane. Even if you take a clean hard/flagrant foul you do so. You have to make LeBron a Jump shooter! That being said they won in 6 thus were the better player/team but I know the Pistons dont get swept by the Spurs in the finals.

Man, that's unbelievable....lose in the playoffs 4 out of 5 games and you are still the better team...now that's Magic. D. Howard still does not believe that he was basically shut down....now that's MAGIC. J.Nelson guarantees a victory and they lose....now that 's MAGIC. Orlando blows a 14 point lead on several occasions....now that's MAGIC. For those of you in Orlando who still believes in MAGIC, okay maybe next year. But for the rest of this season, remember the Detroit Pistons sent you home and in 2 games our starting point guard did not play....man!!!! now that's MAGIC. Whew!!!!! Anyways...
Go Pistons!!!!!

Young players. Big egos. Bad attitudes. Sounds like a recipe for losing -- hmm, they did. Cry babies whining about no respect. You want it, earn it. It's not high school, or even college. If you don't perform on the floor, you're not good enough, no matter how much you want to claim otherwise. Real players don't need to tell everybody how good they are, their actions speak for them.
