If we can't say Bigby is a top 5 Safety because he has to prove himself over time, then I need to take LaRon Landry and Reggie Nelson off my top 5 list because they have only played one year and haven't proven anything. People dismiss Bigby because they don't really know about him. I promise you he hits just as hard as Ed Reed and just because and article says he is terrible in pass coverage doesn't mean he is. He WAS at the beginning of the season but then progressed into an all around safety, something Roy Williams never accomplished. All the people that are doubting Bigby haven't even watched a complete Packer game as of late. As for me, I try and watch everygame I can, outside of the Packers too. So I see these safety's play and I can tell you Bigby is not far behind. If Bigby was that terrible don't you think teams would have taken advantage of him when they played Green Bay.......Green Bay only lost to 2 teams (Bears (rivals), Cowboys)

If we can't say Bigby is a top 5 Safety because he has to prove himself over time, then I need to take LaRon Landry and Reggie Nelson off my top 5 list because they have only played one year and haven't proven anything. Are you trying to make a point by saying that or what? Have you ever even heard of Adrian Wilson, Kerry Rhodes, Brian Dawkins, O.J. Atogwe, or are you just such a homer that you actually think Bigby is better than all the named?
People dismiss Bigby because they don't really know about him.No, people dismiss guys like Wilson and Atogwe because they don't really know about them. If you think Bigby is underrated after reading all the posts in this thread that have him as a top 5 safety, then I wonder how you define "underrated".
I promise you he hits just as hard as Ed Reed and just because and article says he is terrible in pass coverage doesn't mean he is.Bigby is no Ed Reed, stop comparing the two. And you're right, just because an article says that Bigby is terrible in pass coverage doesn't mean he is, but the games tight ends put up against the Packers might suggest something about their safeties.
He WAS at the beginning of the season but then progressed into an all around safety, something Roy Williams never accomplished.Well he wasn't by Week 9, just ask Tony Gonzalez.
All the people that are doubting Bigby haven't even watched a complete Packer game as of late.Forget that my favorite team plays the Packers twice a year, and that my local market team plays them twice a year, or all the primetime games they get, I never watch a Packers game.
As for me, I try and watch everygame I can, outside of the Packers too. So I see these safety's play and I can tell you Bigby is not far behind. So you go from saying he is better than the tier of Rhodes/Wilson/Dawkins/etc. to "not far behind"?
If Bigby was that terrible don't you think teams would have taken advantage of him when they played Green Bay.......They did, they just threw to their tight ends.
Green Bay only lost to 2 teams (Bears (rivals), Cowboys)I guess you didn't watch the NFC Championship then.

Bigby is a good player, but not a top saftey.  If he was one of the better ones, more teams would have went after him in FA.  Even the Packers only gave him a 1 year deal to make sure he isnt a fluke

Bigby is a good player, just not top five. You could make an arguement for top ten maybe but he just hasen't had that one huge year that puts him in with the elite players at his position. He did have a good month when he was defensive player of the month. Then again there are 4 defensive players of the month in the regular season. Barrett Ruud was named defensive player of the month, does that make him a top 5 linebacker. NO. Todd Collins was named offensive player of the month, does that make him a top 5 QB. Hell No.
