Second of all although he is very talented and should be a solid player in the NBA he is one dimensional he needs to improve going to the left, he needs to become more consistent not only from long range but also mid range jumper. His defense needs to be better as well.Bayless is an exceptional scorer at all three levels. He's unguardable against man-to-man coverage and gets better lift on his jumpshot than any player in the world. He shot 41% from three and 46% from the field while being double and triple-teamed for 3/5 of the season. What kind of consistency are you looking for?
Can't go left? Man, watch the games and stop depending on the media to form your opinion. His strength and balance is on par with guards like Wade, Billups, Davis and Arenas. It allows him to go left or right and finish against contact. He goes better to his right at the moment, but that doesn't mean he can't go left. Kevin O'Neill said that midway through the season in a poor attempt to plant a seed of reasoning for Bayless to consider returning for the next season, not because it's actually true.
His defense isn't as good as it's going to be, but it was by no means poor and was sometimes excellent. He has a lot of defensive potential and would be an immediate upgrade from Nash in that regard.
Phoenix would be extremely lucky to land Bayless, but it won't happen at #15. He'll drop no lower than fifth, no matter which teams are slotted 1-5.
