It's too bad the Rox just swung at anything Maddux threw tonight. They really wasted a pretty good outing by Jimenez. He struck out 11 tonight. One could argue that he completely out-pitched Maddux tonight save the fact that the Rox were undisciplined at the plate tonight and swung on the first pitch way too many times. This team has got to get some offense going and fast. The pitching seems to be leveling off and coming under control, the defense is the most sound in the National League, but the offense is atrocious still.

It will come though. And of course, I don't mean to take away from Maddux's accomplishment, I just wish the Rox would've made him work for it. He only threw 68 pitches tonight. Congrats to him, nonetheless.

You are correct, we did get a glimpse of why the organization is so high on Ubaldo tonight, 1 bad pitch was it tonight.  He is going to be a stud.   The hitters stunk it up tonight.

Reynolds makes his debut tomorrow.

Jimenez had a wicked curve ball tonight with 11 K's and I think Maddox was impressed by him too. 2 walks prior to the HR is what did him in. He did not fall apart after that, he came back strong which is a very good sign. When Hurdle went to the mound you could tell he told him, he should be proud of himself. Yes Congrats to Maddox on 350 wins. Lets get a win today and take 2 of 3. Go Rockies!!!!!!

The bats were awful again today. Reynolds gave a decent outing once again, but he got no help from the offense. We seriously need our bats to break out.

Ok, I messed up on a post on another thread.

I thought today was Reynolds MLB debut. I was impressed tho. Padres had a really good day (so rare lately)

Go get them Diamondbacks. I think they're ripe for picking.

In the meantime my Padres have to go play the Cubs who just swept the Dbacks (oh jeez!)

AND the Dodgers have lost 4 in a row.

Good luck guys, C-ya again in July (next series)

You had it right boltnut, today was the debut of Reynolds. He was sharp the 1st 4 innings. Last night was Jimenez and 1 bad inning 11 K's and a wicked curve ball. Last night belonged to Maddox and congrats to him on his 350th. Come on Rockies and Pads, lets take over the west!

Thanks for the update...Sometimes I confuse myself? Huh? When?

Anyhow, yes Jimenez was truly impressive. The local TV broadcasters have Mark Grant as the color guy (former Rockies pitcher) They were replaying some of Jiminez pitches and Grant could hardly contain himself he was so amazed.

Go ahead and tell me how frustrating it is to see the pitching give an academy award level performance, and have the offense just produce squat. I do have to give Greg Maddux credit tho. He was his Professor self.

(The Padres lead the league in non-support) of the pitching staff. (their children are ok)

Good luck Rox, go get them Diamondbacks
