To start things off, yes D'Antoni is a very good coach. He, however, is not what the Knicks need. The reason we did not win games was becuase the lack of defense. D'Antoni does not coach defense. Does this make any sense to you? I am just saying lets not hype this thing up like everyone did when Zach Randolph came to NY. I just hope we don't do anything to mess up the cap for 2010. I say we trade our players for expiring contracts and a bunch of no name european players who are cheap until that day comes. Then when free agency starts in 2010 the Knicks would be the richest and be able to hopefully sign Lebron and sign the right pieces to go a long with him.

D'Antoni is a good coach, but the Knicks need a defensive minded coach like Avery Johnson.  He stresses defense and is a no nonsense guy.  He also took a team to the NBA finals and has the best winning percentage for a coach to start his career.  He is a better hire than Jackson because he never coached before and a team in the state of the Knicks cannot afford to have a coach without any experience.  And why pay a coach that much money?  I know we need an elite coach, but don't we owe Larry Brown still and aren't we paying Zeke's pathetic extension still?  I hope we can get LeBron and hopefully the endorsement money will be enough to lure him to MSG.

Agreed, we should've hired Avery.  I live in Dallas (but im from ny) and Avery would've been perfect for the Knicks.  I'm not saying D'Antoni is a bad coach, I just can't picture the Knicks playing like the Suns.  Hope we hire a good defensive assistant
