i think fear of a playoff undermining Rivalries is completely over done. All of a sudden the state of Alabama is going  to come together and sing Kum-ba-yah? they hate eachother and the biggest reason to win that game is it sways the recruiting trail. Like OSU is going to sit star players vs Michigan. If that happened and OSU lost the entire state of Ohio would shut down for mourning. Could it happen in a LSU/Vandy game. Yes, but who is watching that. If they base it on seeding it wont happen. Name the last time a #1 CBB team pulled all its players for a conference tourney. Yes, playoffs dont always crown the best team, but at least it is decided on the field. I am sure there are plenty of Georgia, USC, Kansas, and OU fans that would have liked a shot at OSU. They didnt get one, why? someone didnt vote for them. we can all give reasons for LSU, but nobody knows if LSU could have beaten Georgia or USC. Plus how great would it have been if Kansas ran the playoffs? Or a Utah team. There is a reason why the most memorable CBB championship teams over the last 30yrs are NC State and Villanova, because they had unbelievable runs as cinderella. I think CFB fans would love to see that. More people will remember BSU beating OU than Florida winning the NC that yr. What is wrong w/ letting CFB share the opportunity of Cinderella magic every yr?

I am LMAO.  Not a pretty site.

Great points.  Case in point the 1985 NCAA B'ball champion was Villanova.  If I remember correctly, they barely made the tournament that year, and went on to win the entire thing.
