So because I didn't post on a Thank the Troops thread, I don't support the troops?
No, BMK, I'm just trying to show our troops we appreciate them and want to get as many people to show their support as possible. Who knows, if someone far from home has the chance to see this, maybe it will make their day.

G&B,
It may not help, but maybe one of the guys over there may see it and tell their buddies and make their day. Maybe it will help just to raise public awareness for a few days.

By forcing us to do something we may or may not want to do, is facism. Isn't that what the troops are fighting against? Are you for facism? You do not support the troops.
P.S. This was not serious.

Nobody is "forcing" you Andrew,
Are you afraid my avatar is going to shoot and kill your avatar?
I'm only strongly encouraging, and maybe laying a little guilt down for those with a conscience who are being lazy.

I dont support the war and i dont think that we should still be there. I have three friends there and i hope that they are ok and come home safe but i cant honestly say that i support the troops.
How can i support the troops in a war that i dont support?

I'm sure your 3 friends would be thrilled to hear you don't support them or their brothers in arms. It looks like those three need a new friend, of course they've probable already met people they can count on in the service. People who don't hinge their support on political ideology.
Haven't you ever heard the expression "hate the sin, love the sinner"? It's not a perfect analogy since the war is not a sin, and it's origins are not of our troops making, but it is what the servicemen have been asked to fight for all of us. And even if in your twisted left wing looneyland the war is a sin to you, you can still support the people who are getting injured and dying over there, just so you can sit on your butt and type on a message board.
How can you support the troops if you don't support the war? Suck it up and act like a man and realize that the troops didn't get together and decide to start the war, they are just doing their job, and fighting for our country.

Well, in the "right wing looneyland", war and killing is supposed to be a SIN (a concept that neo-cons are obsessed with), a rule that is conveniently forgotten as long as they are killing people who do not share their political/religious ideologies.
And even if in your twisted left wing looneyland the war is a sin to you, you can still support the people who are getting injured and dying over there, just so you can sit on your butt and type on a message board.
Actually, they are over there "getting injured and dying", so that Exxon-Mobile and BP can buy out Iraq's oil, the second largest reserve in the world, and then turn around and gouge us at the pumps for $4/gallon and blame it on "those liberals" for forcing them to start adding eco-friendly additives to the fuel (and last I checked, ethyl alcohol is one of the cheapest substances on the earth to produce).

The precise translation of "Thou shall not kill" is "Thou shall not MURDER" killing as in war is justified by God and the Bible on numerous occasions, even merciless killing of thine enemies.
they are over there "getting injured and dying", so that Exxon-Mobile and BP can buy out Iraq's oil,
BS, not even worth responding to.
(and last I checked, ethyl alcohol is one of the cheapest substances on the earth to produce).
Again more proof you don't know what you are talking about. The cost of making ETOH in expense is not the issue, the fact that you need more energy to make it than what you get out is.
The cost of producing ethanol varies with the cost of the feedstock used and the scale of production. Approximately 85 percent of ethanol production capacity in the United States relies on corn feedstock. The cost of producing ethanol from corn is estimated to be about $1.10 per gallon. Although there is currently no commercial production of ethanol from cellulosic feedstocks such as agricultural wastes, grasses and wood, the estimated production cost using these feedstocks is $1.15 to $1.43 per gallon.
