First of all, an awful title for this article. From all accounts I've heard, Koren had really been cleaning up his lifestyle, so if you don't read this article it makes it look like his character is what got him cut. That is not true. What got him cut is the great depth at WR the Packers have.

I don't question the move to dump him since the Pack are so loaded at the position, but I think he will do well with another team. I do wish we could have at least traded him though, to at least get SOMETHING for this guys.

Good luck Koren! Packer nation will still be cheering for you!

I agree robinson did nothing but try to improve himself while in green bay. This article makes it seem like he was caught drinking and driving again and got cut.

Sweet article headline...pretty pathetic on cbs' part. Koren served his punishment and provided a boost to the Packers when he returned to the field, particularly by allowing them to install a spread offense.  He's still has strong value in this leaue and whoever happens to land him will be benefited greatly.  Good luck Koren!

What got him cut is the great depth at WR the Packers have.

There were several posters that predicted the release of Koren Robinson during this year's draft when Jordy Nelson was the first pick followed by a couple more wideouts.

Whether it be a numbers crunch from a personnel perspective or economic decision I was saddened to see the Pack cut a player that they had stuck by during his suspension and come back last season.

I wish him well with his next team, and sobriety with success for the rest of his life.

the Packers got younger at WR

it was either Driver or KRob

KRob is both cheaper to cut and does not have the numbers

KRob will catch on somewhere and I wish him luck.

He has made big strides to clean up, at least that is the way it seams.

Philly, Chicago, Miami, Dallas, and a half dozen other teams could use KRob.

I agree with all of u, i read this article title and was like WHAT!??!...thats not really fair to Robinson..

it was either Driver or KRob

what are u drunk!??!, Driver?? Why would Driver be even considered for Cut?? hes a pro-bowler and adds great Veteran Leadership to a very to a very young WR Core, if anything we would of cut Ruvell Martin

Jesse, first let me say I agree with everything your say, but Driver is 33 years old

I would not really cut him but of the core five; Jennings, Driver, Jones, Nelson, KRob

only Driver or KRob could be considered in cut thoughts.

as cutting Driver would be silly with a host of inexperienced QBs the choice got easy.

not really correct logic to include Ruvell Martin or Chris Francies in this discussion because niether have much chance to crack the 53 unless Green Bay carries 6 or 7 WRs. Even then they would have to beat out draft pick Brett Swain and off season special teams ace add Johnny Quinn.

The Packers will end up cutting more than just Koren Robinson at reciever. He is just the biggest name of the guys who will be cut. Their top 4 guys alone are Donald Driver, Greg Jennings, James Jones, and Jordy Nelson three of those guys put up good numbers last season and Nelson was their top pick this season. Not to mention they will probably only keep 6 recievers at most and behind those 4 there is:
Carlyle Holiday-Headed into his 4th season with only 9 catches on his resume. He only averaged 14 yards per catch so I doubt he will make this team.

Brett Swain-A 7th round flyer this season that could make the team but again it all depends on the performance on special teams. He is a guy who is decent at everything but doesn't excell at anything but the Packers have success with late round picks at reciever.

Ruvell Martin-Pretty much the 5th reciever hands down. He has 36 catches in his two seasons with the Packers and has been to NFL Europe. He has good experience and at 6'4 210 he provides a big target for Rodgers. He will make this team.

Chris Francies-Has had injury issues in the past only being active for 8 games over the past 2 seasons.

Johnny Quinn-Undrafted free agent this season. Signed to play reciever but his real value is on special teams. He has good speed, but has only marginal size. He will have to impress big time to make this team.

Shaun Bodiford-Hasn't played much but has been in the league with 3 different teams in the past 4 seasons. He can return punts and kicks and is a gunner on special teams. The added versatility is what will win these guys a spot.

Keep in mind the Packers have good depth at other positions that could flow over to them not keeping 6 recievers.  Cornerback Will Blackmon was listed as a reciever coming out of college and he also returns punts and kicks. His versatility could put a reciever out of a job. The Packers also have guys at runningback like DeShawn Wynn, and Noah Herron that have good hands and could fill in at reciever if really needed. The Packers will keep 4 runningbacks especially with what happened last season with the rotation they had. This team is deep at reciever and it will be hard for anybody to make it onto the 53 man roster without some tremendous play.

Did Dennis Dodd come up with this title?
