Manningham was great in college and will be great in the pro's.  Not only can he catch well, at Michigan he learned to block, which the pros like.  Multi dimential receivers, not preMadonna products that come out of some fine colleges.  He may need some personal guidance to manuever his way as a professional athlete - but he is not looking for trouble. He's looking to become a star receiver, which will happen.  Time will prove this prediction right.

He will be a star?!  Are you kidding?  This guy has never even donned an NFL uniform and you say he will be a star?  How does making a catch in MINICAMP an example of his talents.  History has proven that college performances does not always translate to the NFL level especially at WR.  I remember another can't miss WR from Michigan by the name of Desmond Howard and he was nothing more than a return man in the NFL.  In this day in age in egotistical players the combo of a checkered past and the big city of NYC can spell DOOM for a knucklehead off the field.  I believe you should take off the Giants glasses and be a little more realistic in your predictions.

I would not mention the word "Star" with any player who not not played in an NFL game yet, but I do think Manningham will be a solid NFL Player.

I don't know if he will be a star or not but I am sure glad he is on the Giants. He has 1st round ability but is immature. He didn't hire an agent before the combine and ran slow. He ran again after preparing properly and ran a 4.4. Things have come to him too easily and now he has to bust his butt. We will see if he can perform at the NFL level. Go GMen.

It's "primadonna". (just letting you know, so dont jump down my throat for "spell checking"). 2nd, i think its a joke that the receiver who the Michigan players voted as the teams best receiver (Arrington) went 4 rounds later. The Saints stole that guy big time.

People are over hyping this about how bad of a guy he is. It's all from those stupid draft anlysts like Kiper and Mcshay and Mayock.  Everyone needs to stop drinking the kool laid and stick to the football part of his game.  All I heard was he ran a 4.6 fourty time, I got one would for all you haters out there, YOUTUBE.  I watched Mario all three years and there was never anyone fast enough to catch him. And for Cwalk, you must think Desmond Howard is the only big time wide receiver to not be a star.  If your plyaing that card then what about Brayon Edwards, his success was compared to him and hes one of the top 3 WRS in the league.  Everyone watch youtube and then tell how slow he is.

completely agreed.

i dont care if this guy had a 4.8 or 4.9 40 time. WHAT DOES IT MEAN. it means that you can run fast for 40 yards. ok good, some routes in the NFL are longer than 40 yards, sometimes theres a thing called a DEFENDER that plays defense. just because he runs a 4.6 your going to tell me hes slow? i saw my fair share of michigan games this season and i dont know it seemed to me that manningham was burning everybody and always open down field. if he can get open and catch, who care how fast he can run over 40 yards.

as far as the off field incidents go. who cares. he smoked weed. your telling me that there arent STARS in the NFL who havent smoked weed? thats crazy. i'd bet my life that there are more NFL players who smoke weed than baseball players who took steroids. who cares about weed, id smoke a blunt with him before he laced em up knowing that its not a big deal.

GO GMEN
