Another Southern hick spouting off with opinion, not facts. Try this on for size, Zeke...

"Funny, Dodd indicates that the Big Ten is so soft and that the SEC is so difficult and deep. Is that why the Big Ten and SEC are 9-9 against each other in bowl games over the last 5 years (and the Big Ten is actually 14-13 in head to head in the BCS era)? I'll give the SEC their due on beating OSU the last 2 years for the title, but not on overall depth being that superior. If the SEC is so deep, why did Michigan beat Florida despite turning the ball over 4 times? And why has a "second-rate" Big Ten team like Wisconsin gone 2-1 the last 3 years against SEC in their bowl games?"

Care to explain that, Jethro?

Wiscgc - you've got to give your team more love than this even when being sarcastic...

"And why has a "second-rate" Big Ten team like Wisconsin gone 2-1 the last 3 years against SEC in their bowl games?"

Wisconsin is not second rate, as you already know.  Barry built a great program and their new coach has kept it going.  Since 1998 the Badgers have gone 80-37, with sevarl bowl victories mixed in.  So give your guys some love......

PS - I always hate when my Spartys have to play the Badgers you guys have had such great success against them in football and basketball.  Save some of that for the SEC...

Georgia owns Wisconsin. Have you forgot the Outback bowls. When have you played in a conference championship game or a conference. Compare apples to apples please. Rested teams with time to heal in a weak conference who have two games all year have a great chance to beat lower beat up SEC teams. Ohio State who creams you every year is 0-9 against the SEC. Come play with the big boys and see how many rested players who stay healthy. Please!!!

TOTALLY agree Gadawgs1...  I've LOVE to see that.  Can you imagine if we had some sort or exchange-student esque program in the NCAA where a team from the Big 10 and SEC swapped schedules and conferences...  I'd let them switch with anyone, even a mid-to-low tier SEC team.  It'd be more fun (no offense to East Div) to see them in the West, where it's 6 teams deep...  Let's swap them with tOSU with Miss St., just for kicks...  I figure with their present schedules, State'd go 6-6 and tOSU would go 11-1, but I wonder....

THE Ohio State University (Playing State's schedule)

  • Aug. 30 @ La Tech, W 38-31... (actually having a viable offense makes this easy win, but humidity in Ruston is pretty tough...)
  • Sept. 6 vs. SE Lousiana, W 51-20 (2-0, this southern football ain't so tough!)
  • Sept. 13 vs. Auburn, L 24-17 (Sen'Derrick Marks hits Boeckman so hard, he pees self mid-way thru 1st QTR, Pryor fairs little better; 2-1)
  • Sept 20 @ Ga Tech, W, 31-21 (Johnson's offense can't keep up w/ tOSU, 3-1)
  • Sept 27 @ LSU, L, 41-10 (Ricky Jean-Francois makes Boeckman pee self again... separates Wells' shoulder in 3rd QTR - having to play in Tiger Stadium makes last year's BCS NC game seem like the horseshoe by comparison to tOSU, 3-2)
  • Oct 11 vs. Vandy, W, 17-14 (banged up tOSU barely escapes w/ W against perennial cellar-dwellar - starting to seem like you NEVER get a week off in this conference, 4-2)
  • Oct 18 @ Tennessee, L, 48-24 (Boeckman gets replaced midway through 2 QTR, noise in Knoxville rattles Pryor - 3 INT's, 1 ret for TD, 4-3)
  • Oct 25 vs. Mid Tenn St., W 30-13 (hard fought game until 4th... still a much needed W, 5-3)
  • Nov 1 vs. Kentucky, W 27-17 (Boeckman returns to form, tOSU gaining momentum, 6-3.  Bowl Eligible...  Whew!!!)
  • Nov 15 @ Alabama, L 38-10 (Grant runs wild, 'Bama's white-hot and too much to handle at home...  Apparently the week off wasn't enough tim to get ready, 6-4)
  • Nov 22 vs. Arkansas, W 28-7 (Petrino has no answer for tOSU's tough D, Casey Dick's no Ryan Mallett, 7-4)
  • Nov 28 @ Ole Miss, W, 33-32 (tOSU narrowly escapes Oxford on Thursday night...  Rebels, prev 5-6 fighting to become bowl eligible, but can't stop Pryor and tOSU's spread offense in OT, 8-4)
  • Bowl - UGA def's 'BAMA in SEC Championship, but UGA, UF, UT, BAMA, & LSU all get selected before 8-4 gets tOSU picked 5th in SEC to play in Liberty Bowl matchup w/ C-USA Champ, Southern Miss  tOSU DRILLS USM 51-13, pundits wowed by strength and depth of SEC)

MISS ST (Playing THE Ohio State's schedule)

  • Aug. 30th vs. Youngstown St., W 31-7 (Dixon, Elliott, and Ducre run wild...  Carroll's lone INT results in TD, 1-0)
  • Sept 6th vs. Ohio, W 41-0 (State's cheerleaders play entire 4th QTR, 2-0)
  • Sept 13th @ Southern Cal, L 38-20 (State's puny offense can't keep up with loaded Trojans...  Don't even make it close until late in game, 2-1)
  • Sept 20th vs. Troy, W 27-0 (D clamps down, Croom grinds it out for 323 yds on the ground, 3-1)
  • Sept 27th vs. Minnesota, W 34-3 (much easier game than last week...  Cheerleaders play entire 2nd half, 4-1...  WTF is Miss St doing in top 10???)
  • Oct. 4th @ Wisconsin, L 24-17 (2 running teams play fastest game of the season...  In the end, PJ Hill trumps Anthony Dixon, 4-2... state drops to 20th)
  • Oct 11th vs. Purdue, W 17-14 (Defense totally shuts down Purdue, 1 of whose TD's is scored by D...  Pegues returns INT for TD in 4QTR for W, 5-2, 18th)
  • Oct 18th @ Mich St., W 23-10 (D continues to play lights out...  Dixon's 2 rush TD pace Bulldogs, 6-2, 14th)
  • Oct 25th vs. Penn St, W 17-12 (State's D limits Nittany Lions to 4 FG's, offense does just enough to not beat themselves..., 7-2, 12th)
  • Nov 8th @ Northwestern, W 31-3 (NW makes VANDY look like USC...  State's never had a breather like this for a conference game...  Cute cheerleader now leads Big Ten in Passing Efficiency 8-2, 10th)
  • Nov 15th @ Illinois W, 24-10 (Defense has Juice running for his life all day...  No Mendenhall means no run threat, Illinois D tough, but turnovers kill Illini, 9-2, 7th... highest ranking for State, ever!!!)
  • Nov 22nd vs. Michigan L, 24-0 (Bulldogs spoiled from reading about themselves in newspapers...  Lay egg in Starkville, 9-3, drop to 16th... would've dropped further, but Hey!  They're the No. 3 team in the Big 10)
  • Bowls - State gets selected 3rd among Big 10 teams, gets spanked by Tennessee 41-3 in Outback Bowl...  Pundits continue to lament what a weak, lame conference Big Ten has become...  State still finishes in top 20 since 9-4 record by Big Ten team guarantees respect.  Atlanta Falcons Scouts, wowed by Big Ten Pass. Eff. Leading cheerleader at the combine, select her 45th overall... winds up being a bust!)
