Once he learns some patience, the kid is going to be similar to a Jose Reyes on the base paths with less power.  Would it have been nice to have that?  of course!  but we got Santana, and you don't get Santana without giving up something tangible.

For example, when we traded for Piazza and had to give up Preston Wilson.  Wilson was then Rookie of the Year the following year, and just one year after that joined the 30-30 club.  Would you have considered the Piazza trade a bad trade?

You gotta give to get, that simple.  Personally, I'm happy for Gomez, I liked him as a Met, willing to do whatever the team asked and ALWAYS played hard.  I'm rooting for him to be an All Star for the Twins.  No regret on this Mets fan's  part!
