"How come in your stats (which, btw, I always appreciate the effort put forth into the research) the Big 10 teams total up like 26 wins against the SEC, but then in your second post the SEC only totals up 21 losses? The numbers don't make any sense."

Very good catch I should have caught that I use the following web site for the data

http://football.stassen.com/records
/

Not sure if there is an error in their data or in my typing skills.  I will check to see who made the error.  Again thanks for catching that.

Okay these numbers should all tie out.  I forgot to include the fine folks from Arkansas and the web site had some errors concerning Tennessee and Alabama losses being one short.

Big Ten VS SEC (1990 - 2007).

Mich 7-2, PSU 6-2, Minn 2-0, Iowa 2-1, MSU 1-1, Wisc 2-4, Ind 6-11, NW 0-1, ILL 0-1, Pur 0-2, OSU 0-7    Big Ten 26-32

Ala 2-3, Aub 3-3, Ark 0-3, Fla 3-4, Geo 5-0, Ken 10-7, LSU 3-1, Ole Miss 0-1, Mis St 0-0, Van 0-1, Ten 4-3, SC 2-0  SEC 32-26

Thanks again to patrickw for pointing out an error in my previous post.

Nice stats, but why don't you try on the BCS era, when the Big Ten is 14-13 I believe against the SEC in bowl games? And 9-9 in the last 5 years?

Those speak better to current day non-domination by the SEC, despite what all the hillbillies keep screaming.

You may want to check out Rivals.com. The stats do show who is the strongest in and out of conference in winning percentages. It also shows bowl records. I think the ratings will surprise a lot of conferences. The number of national championships in all athletics may also be a key factor in showing who stands out. It may open some eyes on what conference is dominant and has been for quite some time. All the talk is supported by facts tha t can be shared by all the bloggers.

The top 5 reasons SEC fans are idiots.

1.  The chirp about how great there conference is and then when shown ACTUAL numbers to dispute their clams they then jump back to 0-9. if you conference is so great, then why doesn't your conference dominate the entire Big 10? The SEC has owned OSU, but that's it. The rest of the Big 10 owns the SEC.

2.  Fans of schools like Vandy, Arkansas, Ole Miss, etc. have nothing to hang their hats on besides what Florida and LSU have done to Ohio State. So they profess to be SEC fans. Sorry loooooosers, but I am an Ohio State fan and I hate Michigan. So with the exception of last year, I want them to lose EVERY game. Yeah, you heard that I rooted for Michigan rather than rooting for an SEC school. See what you trolls have forced me to do.

3.  You say it's an advantage for OSU not to play in a conference championship game... yes, maybe. But it's also an advantage TO PLAY one. Remember morons, I am going to take you way back to 2007. LSU DOES NOT PLAY FOR THE NC WITHOUT WINNING THE SEC CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP LAST YEAR. If the season had ended without any CCG's last year it's Mizzou v. Ohio State. AND to further prove the point Florida also deosn't play for the whole ball of wax in '06 without the BENEFIT of a CCG. With USC losing it's final regular season game against UCLA it's an OSU v. Mich rematch.

4.  They make up lame exscuses for losing gmes. I.e. the "rested" argument I saw earlier in this thread. C'mon, are you serious. I don't care what conference you play in. You will get the best of every team every week in your conference. There are rivalry games in every conference and if you don't think EVERY team in the Big 10 is gunning for the Buckeyes EVERY week you further legitmize your idiocy.

5.  Another one of your lame arguments is OSU doesn't play "anybody" With the exception of last year that argument is completely false. For starters they play AT USC this year and host the Trojans next year, 05-06 they played a home and home with Texas (05 Big 12 champs and National Champs, and finished ranked 13 in 06 (10-3). In 2002 they played (final ranked) 10 Wazzu, I know a lot of you have blank memories from that long ago but that Wazzu team BEAT USC in '02. I could go back further with OOC games against Miami, UCLA, Mizzou, etc, But I don't want to give you brain cramps.

Speaking of Chirps, that is what I heard during the game last year when Ohio State had the ball. It was real quite and we could hear a few peeps here and there. It will not matter who you play because they will be tested and ready. You better hope you lose three games just to save another wasted BCS birth. I loved taking all the scarlets and red fans money. The funny thing is they even gave me points. How many points do you want to give us this year. Thanks for the memories. This time I hope your fans don't leave the sports bars early. I love using their money to buy drinks all year celerbrating.
