This is going to be a tough, hard fought series between the Penguins and Flyers. First off, these two teams hate each other, they are very bitter rivals from opposite sides of the state. The Penguins are the young and up and coming team, that want to prove that what they are doing is no fluke and that they belong in the Cup Finals, the Flyers are the Cinderella team that got lucky against the Capitals and beat a small and less physical team in Montreal.

I believe the series the Penguisn played against the Rangers, helped give them the grit that they'll need to go up against the Flyers in the ECF, Pittsburgh can put the puck in the net and for sure Crosby won't be held goalless this time around. Biron is playing really good right now, but Fluery is just playing insane, yes he has given up a few goals in the last series, but with as many scorers the Rangers have on that team (Jagr, Straka, Drury, etc) he still has the best GAA in this playoffs and I believe that will be the difference in this series.

So I say it will be Pittsburgh in 6 and will have quite a few bruises afterwards for their hard fought reward... LETS GO PENS... HEEEEE SHOOTS AND SCORES, SCRATCH MY BACK WITH A HACKSAW

Sports fan:

Saying the Flyrers got lucky against the Caps is like saying Ian Snell will soon pitch a game without an earned run.

The Caps were out coached, and lucky to get a 3-1 series to game 7. Crosby is in for the same noose that was put around the Big "O" . He is not physical enough to hang with what will be waiting on the blue line for him.

Flyers in 6.

Say and think what you will, not necessarily in that order of course!

It's my opinion that the Penguins will win a hard fought series in 5-6 games.  I can't see this going more than 6 games due to the home ice advantage that Pittsburgh has.

Everything adds up to the Penguins making it to the Cup Finals and possibly beyond if they can contain Dallas/Detroit, while still managing to stick to the fundamentals of hockey which have gotten them this far.

Pens in 5 or 6... but I'll lean towards 6 given the heated rivalry.

Cheers and Enjoy!

BluebellPa,

You are only kidding yourself if you think its the "Flyers Year." According to all Philly sports fans, it's ALWAYS their year, but NEVER finish the job. Seriously, just stop kidding yourself. Pens have a far superior team and our talent will outlast your goons! Pens take the first two games like the first two series, game over son! Pens in 4, but no more than 5.

Monkey Boy...

You sure better hope that Cryin Crosby's figure skating team wins the cup with all this garbage you have been spraying at everyone with for weeks.

yea watch, after game one when the Pens stomp the Flyers 5-0, these boards will be littered with dirty Philly people crying how the refs only gave them 2 or 3 more powerplays than the Pens. Rangers fans did it. Caps fans WOULD do it. Hossa gets the HT tonite and Crosby has 5 points. Eat that Lockness!!

I'll be laughing when the Refs try to hand the Penguins the series, but the Flyers win it anyways. Looking forward to some good hockey!

On paper the Penguins destroy the Flyers in 5 games. I personly think that its Pens in 6. But history says that we need a team in the Stanley Cup Finals that wasn't quite the regular season powerhouse. Just look at a few finalists from the past 5 seasons. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007%E2%80%9308_NHL_season
