one of the worst articles ever, I am amazed that someone would justify calling PA the "State of Hockey" by saying they are good in the pros. I wonder what percent of Americans in the NHL are minnesotans.

Wow, that is some gall there.  Michigan can at least make an argument when it comes to hockey, but Penn?  Ryan Malone and Umberger, now that is some SERIOUS hockey talent there.

And where did Ryan Malone go to college?  St Cloud State.  And last time I checked, that was in Minnesota.  And I should know since I went there while he was playing there.

The author of that article argues that perhaps Pennsylvania is the new State of Hockey because its professional teams did better in 2007-2008 than Minnesota's did.

What he fails to mention is that professional hockey teams are full of players from all over the globe; not specifically Pennsylvania.  The Wild is not even an indicative barometer as to the popularity of hockey in Minnesota.  If it was, then the Wild would win the Cup every year.  The fan support of the team, however, is a pretty good thermometer.

No state in the U.S. can compare with Minnesota hockey from top to bottom.

I'm from Minn. and with you on everything except one point -  don't forget our Canadian friends. I hear they have a couple hockey fans. But in the States, it's gotta be Minnesota! Go Wild!
