I don't think this is an easy question to answer at this point, with a likely coaching change in the works. Rebuilding at this point wouldn't be easy to say the least. Shaq has 2 years left on his $20mil/year contract which would have to be bought out b/c noone other than Kerr is willing to pay him that kind of money. Sarver is not going to part ways with that kind of money easily either.
Honestly, I would prefer to see them give it one more shot. If they can somehow win a championship, Shaq, Nash, and Hill all probably retire anyways. That would free up a ton of money to rebuild. Of course, that is a HUGE if. Also, the players that I think might be used as trade bait following D'Antoni's departure are Diaw and Barbosa. They are both very inconsistent and Barbosa continues to struggle mightily on defense. Diaw did show me something during this last series, but he doesn't bring that kind of effort every game.
