The Texans could very easily be 2 and 5 at the bye week this coming season. This could be another year where they digress again. Yes last half of season is easier, but that is when more injuries occur, as the players begin to wear down. The Texans are still very weak in depth. Could be a very disappointing season again.

Everything will change between now and opening day, but if I had to guess at the Texans record entering the bye week, I would say 4-3.

Anywhere from 3-4 to 5-2 looks pretty reasonable. The Texans have home games against Baltimore, Miami, and Detroit in that stretch, I would be surprised if they lose any of those.

Pittsburgh looks beatable now, as does Tennessee, the Jags road game looks like the most difficult, before the break. The last two times the Colts played here the Texans won one, and lost the other by 6 points, and had the ball for the last minute or so of that game. All it would have taken was one big play or defensive missed assignment and the Texans could have had that game also.

The good news is that the schedule gets easier after the bye week, and Robinson should be back then, possibly even Spencer.

Anywhere from 9 to 11 wins is not out of the question this year.

What will our record be by week 8?

1. @ Steelers - Loss --- I'm on the fence on this one.  The Steelers are beatable but its their home opener.  So I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.  Did anyone mention that Mendenhall is already nursing a tweaked hammie - in rookie camp!

2. Ravens - win --- No QB.

3. @ Titans - win --- we owe them a beatdown.

4. @ Jags - Loss --- If their two-headed running attack is clicking, we'll be in trouble

5. Colts - win --- This year we split home-and-home

6. Dolphins - win --- why should we start losing to them now?

7. Lions - win --- its the Lions.  Kitna's still the QB right? We win.

I can see 5-2.  If things go badly for us I can also see 2-5.  If we don't suffer another rash of injuries and nix our turnovers (we were 2nd only to Baltimore for most in the NFL last year with 38) we can compete with anybody.

Go Texans!!
