Look, horses may love to run but thats not the point. A horse can only run so hard and you can not push a horse harder on undeveloped legs! They need to be 4 years old if they are going to be raced and I mean 4 by their actual birthdate! Dont say we obviously dont understand the sport enough to realize theses a risk in EVERYTHING that you do, I have horses and train horses so I KNOW what I am talking about!!!! Yes, there are risk in everything you do, but you are asking for risk when you run young horses that hard!! And you say its cruelity to deprive these animals from running, come on now, let them run in the field at their own pace, no one is stopping them from running there!! I am just saying, run them at an age when they are ready if you are going to race them!

yes i agree that it is wrong to run them when their legs arent fully developed, but still, you cant stop the triple crown from being run..obviously horses have done it...there would be no horse racing if there were no triple crown...so theres nothing that you can do to stop them from running horses at age 2 and 3, its just the way it goes...its the history of the sport.

I can assure you this fillies horses legs were developed. You don't run 100 speed figures with under developed legs...So blaming it on that is rediculous....THis was a Special filly that had a freak accident plain and simple...Its horse racing...And it will forever be...

ProudSpell_08.....yes, it might well have been an accident but you do not seem to comprehend that forcing an animal to run under the manmade conditions is a form of cruelty.....because once again:  the horse had no choice in the matter.

because once again:  the horse had no choice in the matter. Wrong. How do you know that? Did you ask the horse? D-Bag...

ProudSpell_08......if one follows your illogical thought process then "its the history of the sport" would also apply to the consumption of humans by humans - it is part of history, primitives sacrificing humans to whatever they defined as their g-ods - it is part of history........there are so many horrors that have existed in history - are we then supposed to as a civilized country continue whatever brutalities have existed in the name of history!

We are not supposed to strive for changing negatives to positives?  Well, according to you then even though we know something causes problems we cannot solve these problems because there is a history of said problem!

That is not rational!
