Yeah, it's official.  But that's no big loss.  He's an athletic guy, but he has no touch and plays out of control.  And with the guys on the team and coming in next year he wasn't going to get much court time.  He's better served playing in a smaller conference...I wish him luck.

You are right.  He was just going to fall farther out of the rotation with William Buford coming in.  I see him being a good player in one of the Mid-Majors.

By they way is anyone as excited about next year as me??  I am biased, but I feel good about the line-up they have:

Anthony Crater, David Lighty, Evan Turner, BJ Mullens, and Dallas Lauderdale (he may even be the MVP of the team in '09)

Off the bench is: William Buford (may be a starter by end of year), Jon Diebler, and Kyle Madsen...I even hear their 2 Juco players will be good.

Also, if you get a chance look at their 2010 signings.  4 in the Top 50.

I'm with you there, I'm EXTREMLY excited about our chances this year. We got robbed of a tournament birth last year, so you know we're going to get more sympathy from the committee this year and probably get a higher seed than we deserve.

I'm thinking conference semis, then we make a run in the tourney and get to the sweet 16.

Conference semis is very likely.  Purdue is going to easily be the team to beat.  Personally, I'm not sure about the Buckeyes next year.  They lost their 2 best players, one of which being the floor general.  You can't count on newcomers every year.  They didn't deserve to get in this past year, has nothing to do with getting robbed, but a lot of those guys that were there may have learned from their mistakes.

Perdue will be at the top, but OSU shouldn't be far behind.

Their floor general should be Lighty, he's a Junior and been through some tough playoff games.

Their perimter players will be a huge key with Lighty, Evan Turner and William Buford.  If they can get consistent shooting from them then Mullens and Lauderdale could have field days inside.

Crater doesn't need to be another Conley...just someone who can get the ball downcourt to set up their offense.

I predict 2nd in the OAC and  a deep run in the tourney.  Matta is too good a coach to miss the NCAA twice in a row.

If they finish 2nd in the OAC then Matta probably isn't that good a coach:)

If they finish second in the OAC then Matta did some serious fudging with the schedule.

I don't know, Baldwin-Wallace, Capital, John Carroll. 2nd would be a great accomplishment over there. I mean, after Findlay in the exhibition game last year, you just never know.

Eric Wallace seemed to be a decent player with some upside, but he wasn't going to see the court much until his junior or senior seasons, and even then he probably would've ended up like a Terwilliger type player. This probably hurts depth a little, but it won't be the difference in finishing towards the top of the conference or midpack. I see Purdue winning it, with MIchigan State, Wisconsin, and Ohio State in a dogfight for 2nd. It all depends on how fast Buford, Mullins, and whoever plays the point step up.

Hey you failed to mention Heidelberg in that list with B-W, J-C and Capital.....sorry I'm a 'Berg alumni and played basketball.

Mark my words though...at least 2nd in  the Big Ten next year.  Also, don't come down on their schedule.  If I remember right they played a tough non-conference schedule that included North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and Butler.

They are athletic and big...good combo in the Big 10.
