JGR the premier team in NASCAR??? Gimme a break. GM pulling out of NASCAR?? Gimme a break. JGR is quite a few wins, and several championships from premier. Until JGR can post the wins and championships that Hendricks has JGR doesn't even amount to a pimple on Casey Mears you know what, let alone compare to JJ, Gordon, or Junior. Don't make me laugh. The main reason JGR went to "The Toy" is because he was playing second fiddle to Hendrick. Now as for the other thread about GM. Have you checked your latest NASCAR championship history?? Do you know who the largest AMERICAN car company is?? Enough said. Before you post next time do some research.

Amen to that. 9 races through and Toyota is the premier team?I think maybe you should go back to watching IRL or something because it is very clear you don't know @#$% about NASCAR!!!!!!!!

Carl Edwards has won 3, Joe Gibbs Racing has won 3, and Chevy/Dodge together has won 3. So, it's a toss-up so far.

Meanwhile, it's okay for you guys to live in the past; but you should try not to be BRAIN DEAD right here in the present.

This is a pretty stupid post. I understand your point if you are talking about all-time. However, since 2000 both JGR and Hendrick have 3 championships each. I think  the article was talking about this season  that JGR has surpassed Hendrick, and I would definitely say that is so. JJ and Junior are having good seasons, but Gordon is doing pretty crappy and Casey Mears, as expected, is not even in the top 20 in the points. It says a lot for JGR when they can go to a brand new manufacture and completely dominate all of the other teams that have been using the same parts forever. Besides, why would you wanna root for a huge gayfer like Jeff Gordon anyways?

I think the idea here is that this year, JGR is hitting on all cylinders, and you can't say that of Hendrick.  Here are some stats:

JGR:
Cup: 3 wins, 2nd, 4th and 9th in the standings
NW: 5 wins, 1st in owners and 3rd in drivers standings
Trucks: 2 wins for Kyle Busch

Unless you can pull something else comparable out of thin air (since it doesn't currently exist), then you have to cede the point that the author is making if his claim is that JGR is tops so far in '08.

Incidentally, JGR has just won the 7th of this year's (11, so far) Nationwide race. Maybe somebody doesn't want to give any credence to that. Fine. Maybe you want to put in a good word for Pontiac.
